May 20, 2021

Mr H. who was a steelworker for 8 years, transferred his pension from British Steel to Sun Life (now Aviva) in June 1990. Aviva contested the claim we put forward and the matter was referred to the Financial Ombudsman. The Adjudicator on behalf of the Ombudsman found that the claim was not time barred and at this stage Aviva agreed to review whether the advice was appropriate. Ultimately Mr H. was awarded a sum of £51,631.92.

Mr H. said the award was life changing and he could not thank Corries enough for the result we achieved for him.

Worker from Port Talbot awarded compensation of £85,874

March 13, 2021

Mrs. B who worked for JR Freeman for over 10 years, transferred her pension in November 1998 to Legal & General following the advice of her advisor Braemar Financial Planning. After taking advice from Corries Solicitors we were able to show that transferring from a final salary scheme to a money purchase scheme was not the correct advice. Mrs. B was awarded a sum of £85,874.91 in compensation.

Mrs. B told us she couldn’t believe how much she had lost and could not thank Corries enough.
